Contemporary state and development prospects of microbiology and biotechnology, June 2008, Minsk

The international conference « Contemporary state and development prospects of microbiology and biotechnology », including the EPRS IOBC meeting, will take place on June 2-6, 2008 in Minsk, Belarus.

This conference is organised by the Division of Biological Sciences (National Academy of Sciences) the Institute of Microbiology, (Belarusian Republic Foundation of Basic Studies) and the Belarusian Association of microbiologists.

The research topics of the conference are:

1. Microbial diversity.
2. Microbial synthesis of biologically active compounds. Genetic engineering of microbial strains.
3. Microbial technologies for agriculture and medicine.
4. Biological products for industry.
5. Biotechnologies in environmental protection.

The meeting of East Palaearctic regional section of International Organization for Biological Control of Noxious Animals and Plants {EPRS IOBC} planned within the framework of the conference will focus on the following subjects:

1. Technologies for production and application of plant biological control agents.
2. Application of recent achievements in biotechnology, genetics, chemistry, physics for elaboration of methods for integrated control of noxious organisms.

The languages of the conference are Russian and English.

Registration fee for foreign participants constitutes 100US$, for participants from former Soviet Union 20US$, for participants not attending the conference {only publication of presentation} – 10US$.More information:
