Think & Act Istanbul Conference, 23-24 June 2008, Istanbul, TURKEY

The event which is organised by the EU-funded Think & Act project, will provide an opportunity to revisit the issue of enlargement and to discuss the future political, economic and institutional structure of the European Union. Think & Act project, which is funded by the European Commission under the 6th Framework Programme, aims to stimulate dialogue among transnational and national researchers and policy makers. The conference in Istanbul is the last of a cycle of the project conferences and will be organised by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). It will focus on the challenges of EU deepening and enlargement and raise different possible strategies and scenarios for the Union’s future, based on the results of the EU-funded projects. The conference is particularly intended to facilitate interaction between researchers, policy makers, and media. The event is expected to be useful especially for policy makers since it will include research-based alternative solutions to the challenges of EU enlargement.
