Workshop “Policy instruments to promote sustainable consumption”

The ASCEE project is a Commission funded research initiative that deals with innovative policy instruments and approaches for the promotion of sustainable consumption.

29 May 2008 - 29 May 2008
Belgium
The ASCEE project is a Commission funded research initiative that deals with innovative policy instruments and approaches for the promotion of sustainable consumption. A European wide inquiry into the latest developments in national policies has been conducted and in-depth case studies in selected instrumental areas have been elaborated. The main results, as well as strategies to transfer the findings into practical policy measures, will be presented and discussed during this one-day Workshop in Brussels. Some external commentators will comment on our proposals. In addition, DG Environment will present their ideas on Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP).

The Workshop will therefore offer an important platform to exchange and collect further insights, opinions and experiences from a targeted audience of 40 international experts (from public administrations, academia, NGOs, business). The Workshop will contribute to the development of a “policy toolbox” for policy makers supporting the international SCP-process.

Participation is free of charge.

The program of the workshop includes a poster session. We invite all people who are interested in providing information on innovative policy approaches and tools relevant in the areas of sustainable consumption and greening of the markets to view the attached call for posters.

Participation in the workshop is limited. You can register by sending an e-mail to Maria.Ittensohn@ioew.de, containing your name, organization, function, email and – if applicable – your interest in the poster session, or online using the following link: (http://www.ioew.de/veranstaltungen/080529_registration.html(opens in new window)). You will receive a confirmation of participation by email.
