The Sixth Symposium on Renewable Resources for the Chemical Industry together with the Fourth European Symposium on Industrial Crops and Products will be held in Bonn from 23 to 25 March 1999.

The symposium is organised by Elsevier Science in association with the European Commission's FAIR programme in agricultural research. According to the organisers it will offer a carefully selected programme of internationally renowned invited speakers and oral contributions, supplemented by posters detailing recent research findings.

The symposium will look at several aspects of industrial crops and products research and development focusing on existing and new potential industrial crops such as oil and fibre crops and crops for production of carbohydrates or protein.

The following session topics have been selected and will be supplemented by a comprehensive poster programme:

- Policy session
- Primary production and biotechnology
- Paints, coating and adhesives
- Pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals
- Surfactants and oleochemicals
- Biopolymers and composite materials

The Symposium will take place at the Maritim Hotel in Bonn. The official language of the conference will be English with simultaneous translation into German.
