Sustainable Manufacturing in Europe - Potentialities for clean products and production in the process chain

The FP6 Coordination action CleanProd in cooperation with the European Technology Platform Manufuture cordially invites to a workshop on 1st October in Brussels on: "Sustainable Manufacturing in Europe - Potentialities for clean products and production in the process chain
from forming to surface finishing".

1 October 2008

Industrial manufacturing processes represent multiple opportunities for producing goods in a more environmentally friendly way. The FP6 CleanProd project explored strategies to set European manufacturing on the trajectory towards cleaner production processes with an impressive potential impact on reducing both costs and environmental problems, such as GHG emissions, volatile organic compounds, waste water, and resource intensity.

The workshop will feature the results of the CleanProd project – an R&D roadmap for cleaner production in forming, surface preparation and surface finishing processes by 2020 – and link this to examples of practical implementation of cleaner production in SMEs. It will also explore the incorporation of cleaner production strategies into the work of the European Platform on Future Manufacturing Technologies.

Stakeholders and those interested to learn about cleaner production are invited. To register for the workshop send an email to katharina.krell@greenovate.eu with your coordinates. The participation is free of charge.
