The 3rd Euro-Mediterranean Symposium on Innovation will enable the Medibtikar team to present examples of support to innovation in the fields where Medibtikar is active (incubators, technology transfer, access to early stage funding, innovation monitoring and sectoral support) and illustrate the achievements of the programme.

“Establishing a sustainable culture of Innovation is a long process requiring the right mix of policy and actions in support of SMEs to implement the policy. Over the last eighteen months Medibtikar has initiated many actions which lay the foundations for a sustainable culture of Innovation across the MEDA countries. During the conference; government, innovation intermediaries and SMEs will debate the current results and explore future activities to embed innovation culture across the MEDA region” said Mr. Richard Woodham, Programme Director.

During the conference, the Medibtikar team will present the results of two years of the programme and pave the way to the future of innovation in region. The 3rd annual conference’s main objectives are to set the programme activities in a broader perspective in each of the fields covered by the programme; the conference speakers will present similar strategies that have already been implemented in various countries. The conference will show the long term benefits that the MEDA countries could get from pursuing the initiatives carried out by Medibtikar and the timeframe to get there. Consequently, the conference will be an opportunity to evaluate the achievements of Medibtikar, and study possibilities for sustainable platforms continuing to deliver the range of innovation support services currently coordinated by the programme.
