The Conference and Exhibition is the first in a series and will be held on 13 an 14 January 2009 at the Diamant Conference Center in Brussels, Belgium.
SSOKU09 looks forward to gather over 200 experts in the fields of Software & Services and Service Oriented Knowledge Utilities technologies (SOKU), including high level researchers, top industrial and political representatives from the European Commission and from national authorities to discuss the future of Grids & Software and Service oriented Architectures as well as to evaluate the findings presented in the final versions of the Scientific Research Agendas and Roadmaps of the two projects.
European SMEs participation is particularly encouraged and attendance from European and International projects and initiatives, universities, media, commercial, research or
governmental organisations is most welcome.
The programme features an interesting mix of:
· Plenary session s including VIP speakers from the research and business environment and EC representatives, including Jesus Villasante -European Commission-, Victor Richard Benjamins -Telefónica R&D-, Fabrizio Gagliardi -Microsoft Research-, Paul Strong – eBay.
· Parallel sessions offering the audience an interactive platform to discuss on Research, Business, Standards and Non-Technical Challenges in the S&S and Grid sector. The conference will include invited presentations as well as presentations from the call for participation.
· Technological exhibition space, a Promotional area and networking opportunites including a Cocktail on 13 January 2009, setting the scene for new collaboration opportunities.
· SSOKU09 will also feature a presentation of the NESSI Strategic Research Agenda, a speech from the NESSI Open Source Software Working Group and will close with an EC information presentation.
