Energy and agriculture towards the third millennium

Scientist from Member States as well as central European countries, new independent states, developing countries, Africa, Asia, North and South America are invited to attend the international conference on "Energy & Agriculture towards the Third Millennium". The conference is sponsored by the European Commission DG XVII and is taking place on 2-5 June 1999.

The main areas for discussion by the conference include solar and wind applications, hydropower, biomass, energy savings, energy and the environment and energy and agricultural development policies.

The conference is taking place in Athens and is organised by the Agricultural University of Athens, Department of Agricultural Engineering and Hellenic society of Agricultural Engineers.

Apart form the Commission, four international organisations support the conference: the International Commission of Agricultural Engineering, the European Society of Agricultural Engineers, the FAO-Network on Sustainable Rural Environment and Energy and UNESCO.
