Care and Science in Dementia
The meeting is intended to bring together carers, therapists, doctors and scientists to share their common expertise to increase the knowledge base for research into improving the quality of life for people with dementia and their carers.
The meeting will bring together the ninth Alzheimer Europe meeting and the Alzheimer's Disease Society's 20th anniversary meeting.
European experts will speak on current research and care practice at the conference which will also focus on the following topics:
- The expertise of family carers;
- New therapies;
- Ethical issues and public policy in Europe;
- Genetics;
- Rarer dementia including Pick's disease and CJD;
- Promoting quality care;
- Long-term care;
- Alzheimer's disease in the next millennium.
The conference is being organised with the support of the European Commission and the UK Department of Health.
