Workshop on ethical issues in ICT research and development, Hamburg, Germany

A workshop on ethical issues in information and communication technology (ICT) research and development will take place in Hamburg, Germany, on 5 March.

5 March 2009

Increasing attention is being paid to ethical issues related to research and innovation. In areas such as life sciences, ethical issues are well communicated. For many engaged in ICT development, though, these concerns may not be so obvious.

The workshop is designed to assist those whose work is likely to be subject to ethical review and EU funding advisors who may have to give advice on the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ethical review.

The event may also help researchers and other partners in research projects to recognise ethical issues connected with their work and thus will support them in meeting the standards of FP7 and other research and development programmes.
