The Internet of Things Europe 2009: Emerging Technologies for the Future - 7-8 May, Brussels

Running alongside a Transatlantic Symposium on RFID that is being organised by the European Commission on the 6th May in Brussels, the objective of the conference is to discuss fundamental issues relating to the future ‘Internet of Things’, address concerns to embrace its development for the benefit of European society and explore the challenges ahead.

7 May 2009 - 8 May 2009
Austria
The development of ever more inexpensive, smarter devices - ranging from ID tags to sensors to wearable computers - coupled with the "unwiring" of the networks they connect to, promises to transform the way we use and think about the Internet. Join business leaders, consumer advocates, policymakers and entrepreneurs to find out how this Internet of Things will impact our interaction with the real and virtual worlds. Panellists and speakers at the Internet of Things Europe 2009 conference will share their insights into this developing phenomenon:
What can be learnt from experience with radio frequency identification (RFID) technology?
What new business opportunities arise for vendors, application developers and network operators?
How can public policy be used to encourage research and innovation?
What novel service and communication architectures may be required to support the Internet of Things?
What new regulatory and consumer and civil rights issues are posed by such smart, connected devices?
This conference will provide an open platform for discussions with relevant stakeholders: standardisation bodies, consumer organisations, National and European Authorities and industry.Should you have any questions or require any further information regarding this event then please visit www.internetofthings2009.eu or contact Amanda Strevens on astrevens@epsilonevents.com or +44 (0) 2920 783 024.
