CEMP post-doctoral fellowships Call

The partner Institutions of the National BioPhotonics and Imaging Platform – Ireland (NBIPI)(http://www.nbipireland.com(opens in new window)) are pleased to announce the opening of the call for postdoctoral fellowships under the Career Enhancement Mobility Programme.

The Fellowship scheme is co-funded by the EU FP7 MarieCurie Co-fund scheme, the Irish Higher Education Authority Programme for Third Level Institutions Cycle 4 and the Italian National Research Council.

The aim of the CEMP is to support experienced fellows at various stages of their career in attaining and strengthening their career prospects to become independent investigators or senior scientists in education or industry. Within the remit of the NBIPI, the CEMP will fund and support research fellows wishing to undertake interdisciplinary research and training programmes in BioPhotonics and Imaging in the following research areas and technologies
(a) Research Areas: apoptosis and cancer; cardiovascular research, neuroscience/neurodegenerative disease; cell and Molecular endocrinology
(b) Technologies: molecular and cellular imaging; small animal imaging; Imaging and data analysis; integration of imaging technologies and methodologies; Images and mathematical modelling; drug designs and molecular models for imaging applications; high content analysis.

Training activities will include not only training-through-research under supervision by means of an individual personalized project but also training in the following skill areas:
• Hands-on training activities for developing scientific and complementary skills (to include proposal preparation for grant funding, patent applications, project management, tasks coordination, technical staff supervision)
• Management of the transfer of knowledge and intellectual property
• Capacity to build collaborations
• Administration and management of the research project
