Celtic, the EUREKA cluster programme in ICT/ telecommunications, would like to remind you that the submission deadline of Celtic Call 7 for Proposal Outlines (PO) is approaching on 18 May 2009. If you have a good proposal that you would like to submit then you should not hesitate to discuss it with your consortia or interested partners and to write a maximum 2-page outline. Differently from previous calls the requirements for a proposal outline have been significantly reduced. The PO will now be reviewed by the Celtic Core Group only, where in first place the strategic and business value will be checked. A technical review by the group of experts will not take place at this phase.
As for previous calls the overall project budget of Call 7 is expected again be in the range of 100 to 150 million euro.

Possible research items are particularly focusing on telecommunications systems, services and applications, broadband mobile and fixed networks, middleware- related service and network management and security aspects. Details on the possible work items are specified in the Celtic Purple Book (http://www.celtic-initiative.org/Documents/PB-Version-2009.pdf(opens in new window)) but may also refer to the strategic research agendas of the European Technology Platforms (ETP) eMobility, NEM, NESSI or ISI.
