International THESEUS Symposium: Technologies for the Internet of Services

The International THESEUS Symposium will be held June 29-30 2009 at the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology Berlin. Participation is free of charge.

29 June 2009 - 30 June 2009
Austria
The German THESEUS research programme represents an important contribution to the creation of a new internet-based knowledge infrastructure that means faster and more effective online knowledge processing in future. One of the main subjects being researched is the development of semantic technologies that are capable of recognising and classifying the content and meaning of information (words, pictures or sounds).

The International THESEUS Symposium aims at establishing collaborations and cross-fertilizations between THESEUS and other projects on the Internet of the Future on an international basis.

The program falls into two parts:

* In an Executive Session during the first day the program will focus on strategies for developing future technologies and applications for the Internet.
* In a Technology Session during the second day the program will focus on technology hot spots in the development of the Internet of the Future.

The program is meant to create a balance between views in different parts of the world as well as between research and industrial developments, and it will show how different governmental authorities take part in these developments with their funding strategies.
We hope to be able to create an open exchange and would like to extend our warm welcome to the symposium.
