Within the framework of the coordination action SET-DEV: Science, Ethics and Technological Responsibility in Developing and Emerging Countries, funded under the 7th FP in Science in society, a meeting is organised in Nairobi addressed to the Kenyan stakeholders, the project partners and EC officers.
The workshop has the purpose of sharing the main results of the ongoing WPs and finalising the planning for the two pilot programmes that will be implemented in India and in Kenya. The idea is to start the Indian-Kenyan-European dialogue and create broader awareness in view of the involvement in the second year of activities of interested stakeholders. The Kenyan Manifesto will be finalised and on the basis of that an Indian Manifesto will follow.

SET-DEV project aims to support the research systems and to encourage the socialisation of scientific and technological research in two countries: India, an economically emerging country and Kenya, a developing country. The coordination action, in its three years duration, executes a series of activities through study coordination, capacity building, training and awareness raising initiatives.
The final objective is to define perspectives of socialisation of science and technology that take into consideration local needs and are in compliance with European Union standards in ethics.
