Participation of non-EU citizens in political life

Seminar on participation of non-EU citizens and their associations in political life

6 September 2006
Austria
The debate on citizenship rights for non-EU citizens proved highly controversial in Europe. A growing body of literature gives evidence that in term of civil, political and social rights for migrants EU countries are highly differentiated.
The aim of this workshop is to assess opportunities for participation of non-EU citizens and their associations in political life in different countries, comparing practices of inclusion in and exclusion from local and national political communities. The workshop will shed light on differences in political opportunities, forms of participation and implications for the promotion of integration of non-EU citizens.About CINEFOGO
