KAGIDER EU DAYS 18-19 June 2009, Istanbul
KAG?DER aims at providing a higher level of awareness and a deeper knowledge about the 7th Framework Programme and EU Policies, among the NGOs, academics and researchers, generally and among the women NGO’s, women researchers, and women entrepreneurs specifically. Consequently, the first step of the progressive KAG?DER efforts on understanding and adapting to changing EU policies will be established; and a deeper insight about the call for partnerships, assistance programmes, and fund opportunities for the next term will be provided.
On the first day of the conference, Commission experts on the FP7 and related topics will deliver speeches, as well as TÜB?TAK representatives. On the second day, different Commission will provide information about the EU policies on employment, gender equality and entrepreneurship, regional development and women’s issues together with Turkish authorities and civil society representatives. Moreover, current civil society and entrepreneurship supports will be dwelled on.
Significant obstacles have been faced in the process of applications to the above mentioned assistance programmes, as well as in the right comprehension of the intricate EU policies and their adoption to the Turkish institutions. So, the EU funds provided to apply FP7 and to achieve civil society dialogue remain misunderstood or simply incomprehensible in the eyes of the applicants. At the end of this conference programme, it is aimed to achieve a network among participants to follow up the EU policy application process, to provide support to each other in case of certain topics needing further clarification, and to give support and information back up to ease the project writing process, and the overall aim is to overcome various difficulties on the issue of information sharing in the Turkish membership process.
KAGIDER EU Days will be the first step towards “information sharing and accurate information transfer” which is one of the major requirements for the development of civil society dialogue. The basic demands that will arise, will be projects to be met by the trainings that will take place in KAG?DER’s new centre for women entrepreneurship and leadership, -Biz.
