Brussels holds international conference on Integrated Water Resources Management

STRIVER EU project celebrates its Final Conference in Brussels between the 28th and 29th May 2009.

28 May 2009 - 29 May 2009

STRIVER (Strategy and methodology for improved IWRM - Integrated Water Resource Management) is a three year EC funded project under the 6th Framework programme, studying four twinning river basins in the world: Tungabhadra (India), Sesan (Vietnam and Cambodia), Glomma (Norway) and Tagus (Spain and Portugal).

The final goal of the project is to enhance the dialogue between decision-makers, stakeholders and scientists in order to analyze and propose solutions for a proper sustainable management of water resources.

The STRIVER Final Conference will summarize the major findings from the project. It will provide an arena for discussions around recent findings in the field of IWRM.

45 oral presentations in plenary and parallel sessions, break-out working groups and panel discussions will ensure active participation of representatives from highly qualified research institutes, universities, international water organizations, water managers and European Commission members.

STRIVER Final Conference will take place the 28th-29th May 2009 in the Club of the University Foundation (Rue d’Egmont, 11- 1000 Brussels).

The STRIVER Final Conference agenda is available on the project’s website:

For those who cannot attend the workshop, there will be a live webstreaming during the whole session. The webstreaming facility is offered by the PRESSENSAVE project, funded under the 6FP of the European Commission:
