SPUTNIC - STRATEGIES FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN CITIES

SPUTNIC - FINAL CONFERENCE - JOINS US!

3 July 2009 - 3 July 2009
Belgium
SPUTNIC – Strategies for Public Transport in Cities – is a three-year European project funded under the Sixth Framework Programme by the Directorate-General for Energy and Transport. Its main goals are exploring the challenges and best practises for transitional economies with a special focus on Central and Eastern Europe.

SPUTNIC helps make Public Transport more attractive and efficient by:
Alerting stakeholders to emerging issues
Highlighting state-of-the-art knowledge
Giving specific guidelines and practical tools

After almost two and a half years this EUR 2 million project is now reaching its final stages. The results of the SPUTNIC work is based on the knowledge and experience of more than 100 Public Transport professionals and will be presented at the Final Conference to be held in Brussels on 3 July 2009.

Industry professionals will learn about new approaches to challenges wrought by market competition, changing institutional frameworks and dwindling budgets.

The Conference is free of charge for anyone wishing to attend, but prior registration by email is essential: Sebastian.Emig@uitp.orghttp://www.sputnicproject.eu/
