Summer School: Sociology and the Quality of Life

The summer school aimed to explore how theory and methods can be combined in the study of societies in Europe in general and the study of quality of life in particular. An additional theme was the combination of different methods in the study of European societies.

14 July 2008 - 18 July 2008
Greece
The summer school took place on 14th - 18th July 2008 at the University of Crete. The summer school aimed at exploring how theory and methods can be combined in the study of societies in Europe in general and the study of quality of life in particular. An additional theme was the combination of different methods in the study of European societies.
35 students were invited, costs for accommodation and food were co-vered by CINEFOGO and co-financed by the European Sociological Association which also provided advertising and teaching staff. Each morning one or two international experts gave a lecture on the quality of life. In the afternoons, students had an opportunity to present their own work on the same theme for discussion. Students were divided into two groups. The format was the same as the summer school conducted in WP18 at University of Aberdeen in August 2007.About CINEFOGO
