The University of Essex in the UK has teamed up with Sabanci University in Turkey to offer an exciting platform for researchers, policy makers and practitioners in recognition of the role of technology in the generation of entrepreneurial opportunities for new venture creation.

Supported by OECD and its LEED programme, the 9th IEF conference aims to recognize the increasing flow of ideas, resources and knowledge between businesses, institutions and governmental bodies. Technology has significant role to play in the growth based on collaboration, networking and alliances, and possibilities of new organisational forms emerging from cross-border linkages. As a result the central theme of the deliberations is on "Technology and Entrepreneurship: New Ventures and the Creative Use of Technologies". The conference covers nine major sub-themes but welcomes papers in other related areas.

The conference will be held in the beautiful Conrad Istanbul hotel which is located in the heart of Istanbul, off Barbaros Boulevard and adjacent to Yildiz Park, on six acres of terraced gardens and enjoying a prime position on one of Istanbul's seven hills, overlooking the Bosphorus and the Sea of Marmara.
