Conference marks expiry of European Coal and Steel Community Treaty
European experts will distil the main results of projects completed under each research programme, the relevant findings and the results of the evaluation work carried out by independent experts.
The aim of ECSC social research was to improve working conditions in the coal and steel industries. For over 40 years, this research was focused on five areas of interest - ergonomics, industrial medicine, pollution in the steel industry, and health and safety in coal mining.
Research centres and universities took part in the research projects under each programme and the outcome of these projects yielded significant technical and scientific results.
A dedicated area will be set aside at the conference to enable companies and research centres which were involved in ECSC research programmes to present and exhibit the results, equipment, systems, software and measuring instruments.
