FP7 Certification and Financial Audits - Key Challenges

The seminar is being held in Brussels on the 22nd October by Berkley Associates and Walker Associates and is aimed at administrators, financial managers, project managers and audit companies. It will provide a complete overview of the FP7 Certification system and how to deal with Commission audits of both FP6 and FP7 projects.

22 October 2009 - 22 October 2009
Belgium
FP7 introduced a new certification system for the beneficiaries' financial statements. This system aims to streamline and standardise the audit process, rationalise the number of certificates and make the process simpler for both the auditors and beneficiaries.

The Commission has also introduced a new strategy with respect to the financial auditing of research projects with the stated intention to increase the number of audits carried out by the Commission for both FP6 and FP7 projects.

This one day briefing will look at the impact of these changes and how projects and the auditors providing certificates, can manage them. It will provide practical advice and guidance as well as dealing with strategic issues.

The briefing will be led by John Stringer, a UK barrister and Simon Walker, an experienced R&D funding professional. Both speakers have extensive experience of the management of FP6 and FP7 projects and of responding to audits by the Commission services. For information and registration details, please consult the website www.berkleyassociates.eu or contact Ellie Chokouhian at berkleyassociates@skynet.be or phone 32-2-219.05.32
