Transferring solutions will solve problems for the oil and gas industry

An event aimed to broker cross-industry solutions to solve current or future problems in the oil and gas industry will be held in London on 23 to 24 June 1999. The event, called "PetroSET Expo 99: Transferring solutions to impact the oil and gas industry", is aimed at matching users and providers of research and innovation within the oil and gas industries, or from other linked industries.
The conference will bring together experts from the major international oil and gas suppliers, research and development, and other key industries including aerospace, defence, medicine, and communications. Participants at the conference will have the opportunity to promote new and innovative products to technology managers and research and development executives in the oil industry.
The event will also feature clinics, during which oil companies will set out their technology-acquisition strategies, and technology providers from a range of industries will present their products, expertise and know-how. Representatives from funding bodies will also attend the conference and will provide details of opportunities available for support of innovative projects.
The event is supported by the European Commission's Offices for the Promotion of Energy Technologies (OPET). It is hoped to provide a platform for initiating change in the oil and gas industry, by identifying new concepts that could be used to reduce production costs to 3 dollars a barrel and cut exploration costs by 75%.
