This public seminar will bring together researchers and their stakeholders from industry, academia and policy-making organisations in the forest-based sector. Besides the seminar being the mid-term seminar of the 17 ongoing WoodWisdom-Net research projects to discuss interim results, to facilitate information exchange and networking between the projects and their stakeholders, and to get feedback for further development of the WoodWisdom-Net Programme, at the seminar there will be launched the 2nd Joint Call for Proposals (2009) within the WoodWisdom-Net Programme.
The 2nd Joint Call for Proposals within the WoodWisdom-Net Research Programme focuses on applied research and development projects conducted by consortia of researchers and industry (small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) or large companies). The call is expected to increase synergies between industries and research teams around Europe and to promote the sustainability and competitiveness of the forest-based sector in Europe.

The seminar is arranged back-to-back with the Forest-Based Sector Technology Platform Conference and in collaboration with the ERA-NET Plant Genomics and offers thus a meeting point for the sector and an excellent possibility for networking.
