ProMine – ‘Nano-particle products from new mineral resources in Europe’ Information Day in Brussels on 25th February 2010
The expected major products of ProMine are: a Pan-European databank of mineral resources, detailed 4-D models of selected ore belts, new eco-efficient mineral extraction techniques and five new nano-scale mineral products which will form new raw materials for the manufacturing industry.
The project is coordinated by the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) and brings together a consortium of 27 partners, from Finland, France, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Greece, the UK, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Malta. The consortium has a strong industrial involvement with key players representing the entire supply chain from extraction and raw materials manufacturing to products manufacturing and by-product materials utilization.
The objectives of the ProMine project address the Commission’s concerns over the annual 11 billion € trade deficit in metal and mineral imports. Europe has to enhance the efficiency of its overall production chain putting higher quality and added value products on the market. The ProMine Information Day will be held at Hotel Sofitel Brussels Europe, 1 Place Jourdan, Brussels. Space is limited and advance registrations are required before 12th February, 2010. Please, see more information at: http://promine.gtk.fi/events/InfoDay2010.html(opens in new window)
