European Conference on Research Infrastructures 2010 (ECRI 2010), Barcelona
• to foster and develop the European Research Area through European Infrastructures.
• to boost the creation and implementation of the RI of the ESFRI Roadmap
• to intensify the exchange of views between the Members States in order to fully implement the ESFRI RoadMap.
Following the debate on research infrastructures (RI) that took place at the Fifth European Conference on Research Infrastructures in Versailles, the Barcelona Conference will focus on:
• Promoting a new European Strategy for RIs in the framework of the future Strategy for the EU2020
• Prioritising the ESFRI-RoadMap, being proposed to establish a process for the political decision-making of the selection and location of new RIs, taking into account the already existing ones
• the e-infrastructure for Science
• the Management and funding of the RIs within context of the ERA
• the Governance and future of RIs within the ERA
The day before the opening, on Monday 22nd of March, the ALBA Synchrotron will be officially inaugurated.
The day after the conference, on Tuesday 25th of March, a visiting program to Research Infrastructures of interest in the area for Barcelona will be offered to the participants, including the ALBA synchrotron and the MareNostrum supercomputer.
During the conference, an international press tour will be organized, which will include the attendance to the opening and closing sessions and the presentation of the Spanish Map of Major Research and Technology Infrastructures.Date: 23rd - 24th March
