Internet should be safer to use

An information day concerning safer use of the Internet will be held in preparation for the first call for proposals for this topic. The event will take place in Luxembourg on 19 April 1999.
On 25 January 1999, the European Parliament and the European Council adopted a Multiannual Community Action Plan to promote safer use of the Internet by combating illegal and harmful content on global networks. The Action Plan will cover a period of four years from 1 January 1999 to 31 December 2002.
The planned event will encourage consortium building by enabling interested parties to meet. Also, the Commission's experts will summarise the main points of the procedures for calls and proposals, and answer questions.
