Programme provides insight into Japanese industry

The HRTP-Japan Industry Insight programme of the European Office of the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation, will next take place in Japan between 11 May and 19 July 1999 (11 weeks), or between 7 June and 2 July 1999 (four-week short programme).

The programme includes lectures, seminars, field trips and company visits.

The EU-Japan Centre covers all costs related to the programme (such as events and transportation costs during field trips outside Tokyo). However, applicants must be put forward by their company, which is expected to cover the travel costs (to and from Japan) and living expenses. The EU-Japan Centre estimates that living expenses will be about 1000 euro per week.

For the HRTP-Japan Industry Insight programme only, the European Commission Directorate-General XXIII is offering scholarships for small and medium-sized companies with fewer than 250 employees and not owned by a larger group.
