Workshop on Public Primary Care Standard for AAL (Ambient Assisted Living) Services in Europe, Lisbon

In order to create an European market and to mobilize industry and service providers to invest money into the R&D that later will help to deliver cost effective services with assured quality levels, it is necessary to agree on a primary care standard that covers all basic aspects of AAL.

Due to the distributed aspect of service delivery, a primary care standard for AAL will need to include not only a discussion about the services themselves. Therefore it is necessary to understand well the different socio-political background in Europe that will influence the selection of technologies and solutions. Topics to be addressed are also the infrastructure that needs to be available to deliver the services and to which extent existing standards and platforms can be reused for this purpose.
