The 16th Annual Conference of the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA) will take place at the University of Ljubljana from 20th - 23rd June 2010. The main theme of the Conference is “Grand Challenges in Research Management and administration in Europe” and this is reflected in a diverse programme covering recent developments of key importance to all European funding research managers and specialists, including the likely role of Grand Societal Challenges in future programmes, developments within the European Institute of Innovation and Technology , an update on the mid-term evaluation of Framework and the role that simplification might play in improving access to European funding.
The conference is organised into 3 main tracks:
• Framework 7 Management and Finance – financial rules; full costing; certification; timesheets and audits
• Research Policies and Strategies – funding strategies; industry-university collaborations; proposal writing and building research capacity
• Research Office Services –models of research office support structures; project management and adding value to proposals
The main Conference workshops and sessions, which will be delivered by a mix of keynote presentations and interactive workshops, will take place on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 June. A welcome reception is planned for 20th June, and the Conference Dinner will take place on the evening of 21st June.
Delegates will also have excellent opportunities to explore the beautiful city of Ljubljana and its environs through a parallel programme of social and touristic events.
