Ergonomics In and For European in Brugge, Belgium
As emphasized in the renewed Lisbon strategy, the keywords, “growth and jobs” with special attention to ageing and gender, the conference meets the challenges that confront ergonomists, scientists and politicians to help these groups collaborate to tackle these challenges, rather than in isolation, separately and less effectively.
The conference objectives are intended to create a platform for developing decisions about risk management, growth and employment.
“Ageing” will be the “red-thread” throughout the Conference Programme especially in the context of scientific and practical aspects in different applications: risks in man-machine-environment interfaces (such as transport, maintenance, emergency services), in securing jobs and employment, paying attention to re-employment and rehabilitation and in new forms of work which may carry risks for elderly that are not known or identified yet. E-Health Europe this week reported on the European Commission’s new Digital Agenda, which includes measures to use technology to address rising healthcare costs and help member states to cope with their ageing populations.
The conference is organised in association with:
-EU.trio (Presidency of the European Union)
-ILO (International labour Organisation)
-OSHA Europe (European Agency for Safety and Health at work)
-IEA (International Ergonomics Association)
-Eurofound (The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions)
