Enhancing EU-India ICT Collaborative Research Session @ ICT 2010 Event in Brussel - Belgium

SYNCHRONISER & Euro-India SPIRIT are projects whose core objective is to enhance the impact of the significantly progressing EU-India research policy dialogues in the field of ICT. Within the ICT 2010 “Digitally Driven” event, the initiative will host an Exhibition Stand and the “Enhancing EU-India Collaborative Research” Networking Session on Tuesday 28 in Room T007, from 9-10:30am.

28 September 2010 - 28 September 2010
Austria
SYNCHRONISER (www.synchroniser.org) and Euro-India SPIRIT (www.euroindia-ict.org) are two on-going projects whose core objective is to enhance the impact of the significantly progressing EU-India research policy dialogues in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) by involving the scientific and research community of both the EU and India in identifying, discussing and providing input.

They aim to strengthen the international dimension of EU-India ICT research programme, by identifying matching counter funding opportunities between EU and India that will leverage the already existing opportunities for collaboration. Another objective is to identify long term research perspectives in India aligned with the EU priorities, in order to generate shared horizons of Joint ICT research.

Both projects are joining forces to host the “Euro-India Cooperation Gateway” Exhibition Stand and the “Enhancing EU-India Collaborative Research” Networking Session within ICT 2010 “Digitally Driven”. The stand will be a key element where a delegation of Indian ICT stakeholder will promote their organizations and initiatives while interacting with other participants and FP7 players. One of the objectives is to give Europeans an impression of ICT excellence available in India and of the ways this can be brought into EU projects. The stand is also the only point that enables to establish the contact between Indian representatives and European FP7 players acting as an interactive brokerage area. Participants will be able to meet and network with Indian ICT companies and academic organisations representing excellent potential partners for future European R&D projects. Hence, at the same time that suitable partners are being identified, concrete cooperation procedures will be defined.

As for the Networking Session, taking place Tuesday 28 September in room T007, from 9-10:30 am, it is designed to increase and consolidate Euro-Indian ICT cooperation. The Networking Session aspires to gather reputed Indian organizations and European R&D actors for a dynamic discussion about key themes of Euro-Indian research collaboration and ICT priorities. It will thus focus on ICT topics of mutual interest to players from both regions, leading to an interactive panel discussion. The participants will also be invited to give their views and feedbacks on cooperation with India.
