The Fifth European Symposium on Electrochemical engineering will take place at the University of Exeter, England, between 24 and 26 March 1999.

Oral and poster presentations will be given in the following areas:

- Materials for energy conversion devices;
- Materials for inorganic and organic synthesis and waste treatment processes;
- Electrolyte materials and corrosion phenomena;
- Materials for high-temperature processes - molten and solid state;
- Electrochemical production, processing and structuring of solid-state materials;
- Materials aspects of the NEMCA effect and the theory of catalysis;
- General session - mainstream electrochemical engineering outside the above areas.
