SALA3D brings Colombian and Uruguayan at the 2010 NEM Summit held in Barcelona, Spain

The SALA3D project, the main effort of the networked media research community within EU-funded international projects, continues in its endeavour to boost cooperation between Europe and two Latin American countries: Colombia and Uruguay. Both have already demonstrated a strong political commitment to collaborating with Europe through their decision to adopt European standards in the networked media field.
The first results from the roadmapping and capacities assessment carried out in the two target countries in the first months of the project will find in the upcoming 2010 NEM Summit (Barcelona, 13-15 October) an invaluable setting to be presented to the most relevant audience. Colombian and Uruguayan delegations will present project ideas and a portfolio of excellent organisation and stakeholders with powerful capacities in the NEM sector and interest to collaborate with European partners.
The ICT sector and particularly the networked electronic media field, is indeed rapidly growing in these two countries, boasting a vast potential in software, IT and content. Researchers and stakeholders of both countries are eager to build fruitful relationships with European counterparts, in order to encourage internationalization, technological cooperation and joint R+D+i projects, also to be submitted under the next calls of the ICT Work Programme.
International cooperation opportunities will be the focus of a dedicated session of the NEM Summit, the GlobalNEM conference , during which the SALA3D consortium will bring in best practices and perspectives of Colombia and Uruguay.
The NEM summit attendees are invited to meet the Uruguayan and Colombian delegations and get firsthand information and demonstrations about the countries technological developments progress in the ICT and NEM sectors.
