CANEUS-NATO Shared Satellites Conference in Marina di Carrara, Italy

Representatives from all over the world in the space, defence, commercial, environmental and government sectors are expected to attend the CANEUS Shared Small Satellite for Collective Safety, Security and Prosperity (CSSP) International Conference hosted by the NATO Undersea Research Centre (NURC) to be held on 20-22 October 2010, in Marina di Carrara, Italy.

20 October 2010 - 22 October 2010
Italy
The CSSP Conference will develop concepts, timelines and a budget estimate for a low-cost, internationally shared small satellite communications backbone in space with exceptionally low barriers to entry for participating nations and high mutual benefits in the fields of safety, security, and governance for all involved. The resulting system would make collaboration in space accessible to all nations, and would promote its use to foster governance in the difficult, “unwired” regions of the world.

The Shared Small Satellite CSSP concept reflects an international effort, in line with national security strategies that call for Cooperative Security to promote safety, security, protection of the environment and global economic development.

The event will make significant advances in identifying issues for the Shared Small Satellite CSSP Concept of Operation and international cooperation framework as well as the particulars of international complementary technology developments and benefit applications so that a comprehensive profile of Shared Small Satellite CSSP international impact can be quantified.
