ETSF Call for Proposals, Support to Electronic Excitations Studies.

The European Theoretical Spectroscopy Facility (ETSF) is holding its 7th call for proposals. The deadline for submission is set to 26 October at 17:00 CET. Proposals may be submitted through our website, www.etsf.eu.
Scientists from academia or industry who are looking for ab initio simulations insight and/or support to their studies regarding electronic excitations, transport and spectroscopy are invited to submit a proposal. ETSF support ranges from specialised training on the theoretical background and use of ETSF software to collaborative work on scientific projects that require direct expertise and contribution of ETSF scientists.
All submitted proposals will be evaluated by an independent panel of experts. The
highest ranked proposals will be directed towards ETSF scientists for the implementation of the project. Response letters will be sent to all proposers three months after the deadline.
The accepted projects will be funded in part by the ETSF’s FP7 e-Infrastructure
grant (Grant Agreement No 211956) and in part by the ETSF’s local resources. It is particularly important to point out that, within this 7th Call, the proposals from ERA countries not previously strongly represented (that is, all ERA countries except: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, U.K. and the ESRF) will be preferentially supported by FP7 e-Infrastructure funds. Nevertheless, the applications from other countries are welcome.
The ETSF comprises more than 200 expert researchers in the fields of the theory and simulation of electronic excitations. It is inspired by the example of European synchrotron facilities, and as such it is organised in beamlines2.
Proposers are strongly encouraged to discuss their project with an ETSF scientist prior to submission of their proposal or if not already in contact with an ETSF scientist, to contact one of the ETSF Beamline co-ordinators.
