“Enjoying Life” - Well.com.e presents first results at Medica 2010 Forum in Düsseldorf - Germany
The aim of the project Well.com.e is to visualize the impact of physical exersice on the organism and make it measurable and comprehensible. The Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS contributes a microsystem for signal detection and signal preprocessing. Sensors simultaneously measure the intensity of movement and the heart rate and thus can determine the state of fitness.
The heart rate is used to monitor the stress due to physical activity and an integrated GPS-receiver maps the distance covered. The data is then transferred online to an internetportal, which is part of a health-platform. On this platform participants will find a wide range of information, for example the fitness condition of other group members. Well.com.e will help people to cope with the consequences of their disease and can motivate them to contribute to their health.
True to the philosophy “Zest for Life”, the focus is placed upon the individual and his own desires.
