STREAM project: bridging water technologies and policy makers in Europe Meeting in Brussels - Belgium

The kick off meeting of STREAM – started on the 1st January 2011 is scheduled in Brussels for the 25-26 of January.

The project has been funded by the European Commission under the FP7and supports the development and the adoption of water technologies.

The main objective of the STREAM project (Sustainable Technologies and Research for European Aquatic Management) is to contribute to the uptake of available water and other environmental technologies by the policy makers in Europe at different levels: European, national and regional.

The project aims to make the point on the state of the art of the research funded by the European Union to support the development of water technologies in order to face future challenges in the field of water issues. STREAM will raise awareness on the finding of such research projects and address tailored information to specific categories of stakeholders such as researchers, policy makers, businessmen and industries, as well overall public and young people in particular.

The project has a double arm, on the one side STREAM will focus on the identification of the most valuable research results and new technologies and will make this information accessible in a targeted way to the most relevant stakeholders. On the other side STREAM will aim at identifying the relevant policies set up in water management and water efficiency and will disseminate these best practices to the main stakeholders involved in local policies implementation. Beside the final symposium organised at the European parliament at the end of the project, three policy seminars bridging research and policy sector will focused on: Innovative water technologies to reduce consumption; State of the art in urban water management; Sustainable water management and agriculture.

The STREAM project brings together a team of highly-experienced organisations specialised in the key sector functional to the activities of the project and dissemination of European research.


The project consortium is lead by Minerva Consulting and Communication, a public relations agency based in Brussels and specialised in the management and execution of communication and dissemination activities within research-related projects for EU, and sees the participation of three other partners.
The European Water Platform, a non-profit organization which helps to coordinate initiatives and activities in international water issues; Europe for Business, focused in Innovation Management providing support services to private and public organisations in Product and Process Innovation, Technology Transfer; Menon Network, a Brussels based network of European organisations operating in the e-learning sector, with experience in the creation and implementation of e-learning course related to scientific themes.
