EARMA :The European Association for Research Managers and Administrators, is pleased to announce another major event on current European research policy. The focus of this event is the importance and significance of the "Innovation Union" for European research and its funding

2 March 2011 - 2 March 2011
Austria
EARMA is pleased to announce another major event on current European research policy.

Innovation has become the major buzzword in the discussion on FP8 and the progress of the ERA and is thought to play an eminent role in the future. Most recently, this trend was highlighted in the reorganisation and renaming of DG Research to DG Research & Innovation. If Innovation is to become such a central pillar in EU-funded research it is time to explore the impact of this development on the European Research landscape. Questions we want to address at the meeting will include:
• A definition of the "Innovation Union" in Research (DG R&I)
• current "innovation" outcomes of EU-funded research projects
• the feasibility of current Innovation strategies from the user perspective
• new tools to support innovation, exemplified by the innovation-grant pilot by the ERC agency

Speakers:
Laura Pontiggia (Policy Advisor ERC Executive Agency and Secretary of the Scientific Council Working Group on Industry)
Pawel Poneta (Coordinator of the FP7 project Trans-Ind)
Clara de la Torre (Director, Directorate C - Research and innovation, DG Research & Innovation)
Peter Fisch (Head of Unit Ex-post evaluation, Directorate A - FP - Interinstitutional relations, DG Research & Innovation)

Registration Closes: 24 February 2011
