Fifth International Conference on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (AMN-5) located in Wellington, New Zealand

2011 is a most auspicious year marking the 100th anniversary of the discovery of superconductivity, and 25 years since high temperature superconductivity was first observed. 2011 has also been chosen as the International Year of Chemistry. This is intended as a worldwide celebration of the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to the well-being of humankind.

7 February 2011 - 11 February 2011
New Zealand
The Fifth International Conference on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (AMN-5) offers a broad interdisciplinary overview of advanced materials and nanotechnology, and provides an exciting forum to discuss new and exciting advances in the field.

Contributors include Nobel Laureate Professor Sir Anthony Leggett (Illinois, USA), Professor Sir Richard Friend, (Cambridge, UK), Professor Jean Fréchet (Berkeley and LBNL, USA), and Professor Neil W Ashcroft (Cornell, USA).

COST will be participating in this event by presenting the opportunities offered by its networks and, specifically, by its MPNS scientific domain. The Chair of the COST Domain Committee for MPNS and a Science Officer from the COST Office will welcome scientists and researchers interested in COST scientific domains and the reciprocal agreement with New Zealand at the COST information stand.

This biennial conference is organised by the MacDiarmid Institute and hosts technical symposia.http://www.cost.esf.org/events/amn-5
