Workshop: Cloudscape III - Taking European Cloud Infrastructure Forward held in Brussels - Belgium
Science, eGovernment, privacy & legal issues, security, interoperability: Cloudscape III addresses the main key aspects of cloud computing for the benefit of the users through dedicated sessions:
• Interoperability Keynote presentations: 15 March 9:25 – 10:30
Introducing the SIENA Roadmap, Standards landscape and Cloud Computing Interoperability use cases.
• Cloud computing for Scientific Research User communities. 15th March 11:00 – 12:30
Speakers will debate interoperability strategies for cloud computing infrastructures, including BioTechnology and ECEE user communities.
• Public Services and eGovernment use cases & Distributed Computing Infrastructure (DCI) Use Cases, 15th March 14:00 – 16:00
An afternoon of presentations will examine how eGovernment and Distributed Computing Infrastructure projects can work together for mutual benefit. Presentations on EC perspectives from Jean-Francois Junger, European Commission Head of Sector Govt & Enric Mitjana, GÉANT and eInfrastructure Unit, European Commission; G-Cloud and DCI projects EGI-Inspire, StratusLab and VENUS-C.
• Tackling legal, policy & ethical issues around Cloud computing, 16 March 9:00 - 11:00
In this session legal and ethics experts discuss data privacy, security, and the legal side of portability data migration, mash-up and facilitation.
• Security issues and Cloud. 16 March, 11:30 – 13:00
A 90-minute debate offering insights into security aspects of cloud computing.
• Building a Consensus on Cloud Roundtable 16th March 16:00 – 17:30
Representatives from the EC, European Distributed Computing Infrastructures, National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST, U.S.) and government discuss the next steps for the SIENA Roadmap.
Besides that, Cloudscape III will see the launch of the first iteration of the SIENA European Roadmap on Grid and Cloud Standards for e-Science and Beyond, to be aligned with the needs of European and national initiatives.
The event takes place at: The Hotel, 38, Boulevard de Waterloo, Brussels, Belgium.. Registration covers two-days of presentations and Round Tables led by international experts, developers and users, the launch of the first iteration of the SIENA European Roadmap on Grid and Cloud Standards for e-Science and Beyond, a Welcome Cocktail sponsored by Microsoft Research with demos, networking lunches and coffee breaks, along with a special set of resources for attendees.
