Seminar on EU Funding on 'FP7 NMP and Security' in Glasgow, Scotland

Enterprise Europe Network Scotland, and Scotland Europa are delighted to announce that they will be hosting a half-day seminar focusing on upcoming opportunities available via the EU R&D funding programme known as Framework Programme 7 (FP7).
The seminar will be held on the 24th of March in Glasgow, Scotland.

24 March 2011 - 24 March 2011
United Kingdom
NMP (short for Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and New Production technologies) is a €3.5 billion programme within FP7 which is broad-based and relevant to all key industrial and technology sectors in the UK; from energy to manufacturing to the life sciences and ICT, and from low-carbon buildings to green cars.
FP7 Security, although one of the smaller priority themes in the Co-operation Programme, has areas of considerable overlap with other major themes such as NMP, ICT and Health/Bio. In particular, it includes CBRN protection and detection, forensics (including cyberforensics), border security issues such as biometric data handling, biosecurity protection and systems interoperability. Many of these areas may be of interest to companies operating in the NMP and nanotechnology fields which may not have previously considered exploring the opportunities available in the Security theme.

The key contacts for FP7 in the UK are the TSB funded UK National Contact Point (NCP) network and we are delighted that on the day we will have Dr Alastair McGibbon and Derek Gallaher, NCPs for NMP and Security respectively as our keynote speakers.

Delegates will also have the chance to speak to the Scottish FP7 support providers in the form of the Enterprise Europe Network and Scotland Europa.
