Specification of end-user applications

This deliverable provides a high-level view on the new specifications of end user
applications defined in the WP6 during the M25-M33 period of the KP-Lab project. The
specifications define new tools and extended functionally in all eight functionality groupings
of tools, i.e. Shared Space and Common Tools, Tools for Managing and Analysing Complex
Knowledge Structures (MACKS), Process Management and Analysis Tools, Networking
and Community Building Tools, Document Centered Collaboration Tools, Activity System
Design Tools (ASDT), Semantic Multimedia Annotation Tools (SMAT), as well as for the
Meeting and Conferencing Tools
The main content of the deliverable is the summary of tool specification documents provided
in the annexes and the description of the Knowledge Practices Environment architecture. The
deliverable provides also an overview of the technical design process, of tools’ relationship
with the research studies, of the driving objectives and the high-level requirements as well as
of the exploitation of advanced semantic middleware services. In the final part, conclusions
and future work are presented.
