CORDIS, the Community Research and Development Information Service, part of the European Commission's Innovation/SME Programme, will present to visitors to FTI Technoland (19-25 April 1999) the most recent developments of its web service, http://cordis.europa.eu(opens in new window) devoted to EU research and innovation policy.

CORDIS, accessible free of charge, provides a wide range of information on how to participate in and benefit from R&D and innovation activities undertaken at a European level, as well as a catalogue of national research projects (http://cordis.europa.eu/ergo/(opens in new window)).

Visitors to FTI Technoland will find CORDIS is a marketplace where information and knowledge can be exchanged, partnerships can be formed and relevant participation tools can be found.

CORDIS helps users find their way to successful innovation by:

- Keeping them up-to-date on current research findings;
- Identifying projects and funding sources;
- Finding potential partners to co-operate with;
- Locating and promoting exploitable results;
- And more.

In addition, CORDIS publishes calls for project proposals under the new Fifth European Framework Programme (FP5) for Research, Technological development and Demonstration (1998-2002).

Potential participants in FP5 projects can find everything they need on http://cordis.europa.eu/fp5/(opens in new window):

- Full explanation of the content and implementation of the programmes and key actions covered;
- Information packages for all calls: call text, work programme, guide for proposers, etc;
- A Proposal Preparation Tool.

In a continuing effort to make CORDIS even more user-friendly, the service will be testing three new "Home Page" concepts during FTI Technoland. All participants are invited to stop by and cast their vote for their preferred new CORDIS Home Page.
