SYSWIND Summer School 2011 on Structural and Aerodynamics of Wind Turbines in Aalborg, Denmark

The SYSWIND Summer School 2011 provides an insight in multi-body dynamics, structural control, generator technology, airfoil design, computational fluid dynamics and other hot topics in structural and aerodynamics of wind turbines.

1 August 2011 - 5 August 2011
Denmark
The courses are open to students and researchers from academia, as well as to engineers and industry practitioners working in the field of mechanical, civil, structural and electrical engineering, aerodynamics and computer science.

Various aspects of topical areas of structural and aerodynamics of wind turbines will be covered. The attendees will be provided with an overview of the state-of-art knowledge and techniques in these areas and insight into the following topics:
-Modal analysis and introduction to nonlinear flexible multi-body dynamics
- FE analysis of blades and structural control
- Generator technology and engineering aerodynamics
- Airfoil design and analysis using X-Foil; Vortex methods
- Aerodynamics using CFD; Flow visualization; Clusters & wakes in wind farms
