15th Int. Forum on Advanced Microsystems for Automotive Applications (AMAA 2011) “Smart Systems for Electric, Safe and Networked Mobility”, Berlin, Germany

Fundamental transformations are imminent for the automobile today: propulsion technologies are going to shift from combustion engines to electric motors; cars and roads will soon be as safe and convenient as never before; and traffic will flow increasingly efficient. The programme of the 15th International Forum on Advanced Microsystems for Automotive Applications (AMAA 2011) “Smart Systems for Electric, Safe and Networked Mobility”, to be held in Berlin (Germany) on 29 – 30 June 2011, will cover components, architectures and smart systems enabling the automobile of the future. The focus is on electric driving, safe cars and roads, and connected vehicles.

Conference programme

Networking Session Green Cars
The European Commission’s DGs Infso and Research will introduce the Future Calls of the PPP European Green Cars Initiative. Furthermore, the Project Portfolio of the European Green Cars Initiative will be presented by the coordinators of the Coordination Actions CAPIRE and ICT4FEV.

EV Ride and Drive
There will be a ride & drive with innovative electric vehicle around the Borsigturm, featuring e.g. two Mini-E and an eRuf, i.e. an electrified Porsche.

Conference Book
As in previous years, a book with selected contributions of AMAA 2011 participants will be published worldwide by Springer prior to the conference.

Joint EC / EPoSS / ERTRAC Workshop
On 30 June, the European Technology Platforms EPoSS and ERTRAC together with the European Commission will hold another joint expert workshop on electrification. In light of the current discussion about the need or the opportunity to re-“invent” the architecture of the electric power train, the topic of this workshop will be “Electric Vehicle System Integration and Architecture”. The workshop is a satellite event of the AMAA 2011.

The Borsigturm is located in Berlin-Tegel, the green area in the north-west of Berlin. It is Berlin's first skyscraper (1925) of multifunctional business location on the former site of Borsig. It was completely renovated. With its 65 m high and 12 floors it is a symbol of tradition and growth in the north-west of Berlin and connects the history of industrial development of the site to modern service and commercial center. Social Event and Dinner
Join us on 29 May for good food and wine on an exclusive evening in the new exhibition “Man on the move – underway with Auto & Co” at the German Museum of Technology. Busses are leaving from Borsigturm at 18:30.



Exhibitor Information
The annual AMAA conference is supplemented by an exhibition, which offers companies and institutions a great opportunity to present their products, services or innovations to a highly involved audience. The exhibition is an integral part of the conference and will be located in the get-together area.

Organizers
The AMAA conference is jointly organized by VDI/VDE-IT and the European Technology Platform on Smart Systems Integration (EPoSS) as well as by the two EU-funded Coordination Action supporting the European Green Cars Initiative, ICT4FE and CAPIRE.
