Information Society offers women equal opportunities

An international conference on equal opportunities for women in the Information Society will be held in Düsseldorf on 17 April 1999, as part of the German Presidency of the European Union.
The conference aims to present exemplary projects and courses of action by educational and professional women's technology networks documenting their strategies and strengthening considerably their European networking.
The main objective of these networks, with respect to Information and Communications Technologies in particular, is to incorporate women's requirements, abilities and skills into the development and creation of technical products and services. In that respect fundamental change is required in the objectives, plans and measures implemented by education, research and business in order to create equal opportunities for women and men.
