Hungarian EUREKA Chairmanship launch conference called "Smart growth through international R&D cooperation" in Budapest, Hungary

As Hungary will be assuming the EUREKA Chairmanship on 1 July 2011, a launch conference on ‘Smart growth through international R&D cooperation’ will take place on 8 July 2011 at the Danube Palace, Budapest.

In line with the Europe 2020 strategy and its Innovation Union flagship initiative, the aim of the conference is to discuss international R&D&I cooperation activities and how EUREKA could contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of European SMEs and enhancing smart growth in the regions.

High-level stakeholders and all interested parties will be invited to actively contribute to the conference’s discussions which will have a significant role in shaping EUREKA’s future and improving networking to meet today’s challenges.

The main focus areas of the conference will be:
• Smart growth strategies in the European Research Area (ERA);
• Effective tools and instruments to support R&D&I activities of European SMEs;
• The role of international R&D cooperation in boosting regional competitiveness.

The findings and recommendations of the conference will enrich the fruitful discussions on shaping EUREKA’s future and meeting today’s challenges.
