European Cooperation in the Field of Scientific and Technical Research (COST) is organizing the first workshop of the COST D9 Action, "Advanced Computational Chemistry of Increasingly Complex Systems", in Geneva, Switzerland, between 2 and 4 July 1999.

The purpose of this workshop is to present the results obtained, two years after the beginning of the Action, by its 11 working groups (WGs). In addition, these results will be evaluated by two external referees and by the members of the Management Committee (MC) of the Action.

Finally, four keynote and two invited lecturers will speak about several topics ranging from the relations between theory and experiment to recent advances in computational chemistry. The workshop is an excellent opportunity for the participants to learn about European collaborative results at the forefront of computational chemistry and to make them aware about future directions in this discipline.
